This is something I’ve been meaning to get done for months now, but finally I got around to getting some help.
Last month a CamStudio user, Carlo Lanzotti sent me a version of CamStudio with a number of fixes but he lost the full list of changes and fixes he made.
This is the list he sent […]

Possible Workaround For “Waveout” Error on Vista?
March 14th, 2008 · 6 Comments
“mcclenj” just posted this as a comment, which I thought I’d post here so everyone can see it …
Okay, this is TOTALLY the solution for Vista users, anyone who gets the “WaveoutGet…blah blah” error, who only hears static on the audio, etc. At least it worked for me.
All you gotta do is open up […]

Sorry about the extended downtime …
Turns out my webhost thought one of their MySQL servers had suffered a hack and promptly shut it down.
Unfortunately all my websites using blogs (CamStudio too) and anything remotely dynamic used that database server and so everything went dark - including my mailing list software, so I couldn’t even update […]

Okey Doke - you wanted it, so here it is:

Right now, members are manually approved so it might take 24 hours-ish to be granted access.
I’m still getting to grips with the Vanilla forum software so you might see some changes as new features and functions are added.
Anyone interested in becoming a moderator, reply here and […]

CamStudio 2.5 Beta 1 Released
September 6th, 2007 · 116 Comments
Hi All
I haven’t heard from Marcus who’s currently working on 2.6 for 3 weeks now.
I don’t want development on CS to stall, nor do I want all the “pressure” on one person to deliver, so I’ve decided to make CamStudio 2.5 available and class it as a Beta 1 release.
You can download the binaries and […]

Upgrading Wordpress To 2.2.2
September 3rd, 2007 · 1 Comment
Just a quick note to say I’m about to upgrade the CamStudio blog to the latest version of Wordpress, 2.2.2
If it all goes horribly wrong, I’ll try to minimize any possible downtime.
I’ve backed up the DB and current files, so if the worst happens it should be simple for me to recover.
Anyway, keep everything crossed […]

Temporary Workaround For CamStudio 2.0 on Vista?
August 29th, 2007 · 14 Comments
Hi All
This is a request for Vista users …
Ghosty121212 posted a comment on this page saying that you can get CamStudio working on Vista, doing the following:
Right click on the application > Select compatibility > then choose run compatibility with Windows XP SP2.
It runs just like XP now!
Can anyone confirm this?

Hi All
I know it’s been a while since I posted, and 2.5’s release has fallen behind again (yes, Dai I’m still on it) but I’ll have some good news for you in the next couple of days …
In the meantime, I thought I’d share the lovely letter I got from a charming individual called “Adolf” […]
