Uh, I’m still getting the WaveoutGet error. Is there anything else I need to do? I’m running an Acer Aspire 5735Z with Windows Vista Home Premium SP1. Thanks

I’m trying to record skype video with both voices, when I use the wave out workaround to record the voice of the other person is recorded by my microphone stops working with skype. Any suggestions?

“WaveoutGet” error.
Go to Audio options for mictorphone and choose the appropriate device (in my case Realtek HD Audio Input). You can then record sound.

Someone should put this in the help files.

This suggestion helped – fixed the problem. I actually got CS to record via the speaker trick thanks to someone on Youtube. Later it did not work – followed what it said here – thanks to yet another person who posted the info & link @ Yahoo! Answers. Thanks very much and CamStudio was a great find.
