Video+Sound: Both only played in CamStudio player

edited June 2008 in Support
I'm trying to record video + sound (directly) but the produced file only plays both in the CamStudio player. When I try to open the file in e.g. Media Player Classic (or any other directshow player for that matter) I only get to hear sound, no video is displayed. What could be the cause of this issue?

Info:
CamStudio 2.5 beta 1
Windows XP SP3
CamStudio Lossless codec
PCM

  • Strange thing is that GSpot and VirtualDub do play the file correctly again.

I'm using K-Lite Codec Pack. Could this have something to do with it?
  • K-Lite could be the cause of the problem. Another member of the forum had similar problems (http://camstudio.org/forum/comments.php?DiscussionID=44&page=1#Item_5), and removing the codec pack fixed it for him.
