Error Messages and Lost Recordings

I've been successfully using CamStudio for some time, but recently, I've had error messages when I finish my short recordings.

First, it asks me to name my file. When I change the file name, it tells me that I cannot rename it that way and prompts me to click "ok". After I do so, only a .wav file (no video) is saved to the default location with the default recording name.

Help! These are not more than 2GB files.



  • I may be wrong, though on the size of these files. I test recorded about 10 seconds of audio/video and it was 400+ MB. Is that accurate?
  • This is a new one for me. Is there anything unusual about your naming scheme? Have an example?
