So, how does one get 1080p to work well?

This is the fastest it can go, which is much slower than what Linux can do at the same 1080p: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vB74C4BjAd0
However, sound is horrible in linux, areas load too slow for Kitsu Saga, etc.
That fork of CamStudio with VNC properties won't work (obvious, always records a black screen, my computer isn't a server, nor is it connecting to any.)
So, what should I do? I've tried using the CamStudio Beta, it's pretty much the same, but couldn't test ffdshow, since 2.6b doesn't allow you to choose it: http://imgur.com/qeINI.png
Fraps is out of the question, free version sucks. HyperCam? No way.
