Any way to stop loop on SWF export?

edited September 2008 in Support
Hi guys! I'm new to CamStudio. I find myself being asked all kinds of questions and saying hey, it would be easier if I could just show people the answer. Enter CamStudio... anyhow, I made my first tiny little screen capture and it worked just fine. I chose the export to SWF option. The video keeps looping. Is there any way to disable the loop so that it runs once and users would then have to use the controls at the bottom to play it again?\

  • Hi Chris

Yeah, in the "Conversion to Flash" dialog that comes up SWF Producer after you've imported the AVI, look down the General tab to the Behavior section and you should see a Loop checkbox.

    Untick it to stop looping.

    Cheers

    Nick :)
  • Aha, thank you. I hadn't imported an AVI to convert to SWF. I just switched the mode CamStudio was in to do that automatically. Thanks for the tip!
  • OK, I did a screen capture directly to SWF without making AVI. I didn't see any option to loop or not. Anyway I can stop the resultant SWF from looping after the fact?

    cwilson666,

Actually, it does create an AVI (in the temp folder), but then goes via automation to the SWF creator and generates the SWF.

Looping is controlled in the HTML component, I believe. Or via any other SWF player you may want to use instead (recommended).

Adobe/Flash has just released a FREE hosted video player solution you might be interested in:

Here is the "Configurator" used to create your parameters and settings:

You can use the Adobe hosted version, or install the Strobe player onto your own server. The advantage of the hosted version is that it is updated at Adobe when there are updates to be had... with the Strobe player, you'll have to perform your own server updates, of course. You can use the "Configurator" to create your Strobe code, and change the URL to the player the Configurator gives you to point to your own Strobe player hosted on your own server (or wherever!).

Anyway, there you go with some great options for playing back your SWF or AVI files made with CamStudio!
