Adding graphics to a post

Maybe I am missing something obvious. Is there anyway to imbed an image in my post ?

    I have seen it done - it must be a regular img tag. Let me try one:

    That worked!

    It was a left angle symbol followed by img src="
    Then the image URL (it has to be already uploaded to some server somewhere).
