How to keep record from speakers

Win7 Pro SP1, Chrome Version 48.0.2564.116 m CamStudio V2.7 build r316

CamStudio will not stay on Record Audio From Speakers. When opened it always goes to microphone.

How do I make it stay on speakers?

Nothing, pretty much. It does not write that setting to the preferences file when you close CamStudio, as it does with other preferences. It is a bug.

If you meant it will not stay on Stereo Mix from the "Record from Microphone Options" and keeps returning to "Default", then right-click on Stereo Mix in the Windows Audio Control Panel and elect to make that the default recording device. Then at least it will call on that. But I do understand that is far from optimum, as you likely will not want your system set always to Stereo Mix for recording.

I use the Voicemeeter program as my default playback device AND default recording device and it is so versatile that it has much better control over monitoring and volume levels than Stereo Mix could ever hope for. Find it here: http://vb-audio.pagesperso-orange.fr/Voicemeeter/index.htm

For more extensive work with multiple inputs and outputs, use the pro version here: http://vb-audio.pagesperso-orange.fr/Voicemeeter/banana.htm
