XviD Camstudio outputs black / blank screen with sound
For those of you who tried xvid with Camstudio, only to see an output file with black video and sound, the solution is easy - try playing the file on windows media player or another player. The file is recorded properly, provided you did not see a error message upon recording.
The default camstudio player (version 2.0) has a bug that shows a blank or black video with xvid. By default the setting is for camstudio to try and play any file recorded by it to the camstudio player, which had issues for me for 2 different systems.
