Is it downloadable, and usable by a non-developer (i.e., no need to compile it)?

Good question because there are several developers who created a new local 2.5 distro in the past years.
(Maybe Nick the Geek could explain which source and binaries are most advisable to use.)

So does the bin zip file at your first link contain a working executable of 2.5?

Is 2.5 stable? Does it work well? What improvements does it have over 2.0?

If 2.5 is stable, why isn't it on the main download link on the main page, instead of (or as well as) 2.0? (As 3.0 is pre-alpha, I think it will be a long time before it is ready. If 2.5 is ready, and better than 2.0, why not make it the main version?)

I thought i saw a 2.6 mentioned somewhere?

By the way, http://sourceforge.net/projects/camstudio/files/ does not include 2.5, unless I missed something.

I only saw comments at that link you gave, not files.

Besides, I don't know anything about compiling. I would need an app ready to use.
