Help with recording with H.264

edited May 2010 in Support
I need to start recording my screen and Camstudio seems to be the software to use. I've had no problems using it so, i've just been experimenting with quality settings and compressors and what not.

Anyway, everyone seems to say that H.264 is the way to go but I cant seem to get it to work in Camstudio. I have Shark007 Codec pack (64bit version as well) for windows and I have set camstudio to use ffdshow.

In configure i haven't messed with anything really other than selecting different things in FOURCC and MODE in an attempt get it to work.

No matter what settings I choose the resulting file will not play. I've tried it in Media Player Classic HC and VLC but they both just run through without actually playing video.

Below you can see what Gspot says;

Clearly i'm doing something wrong but i'm new to recording videos, codecs, encoding etc etc so I dont know what to do.

If anyone could help me out i'd really appreciate it.

Thanks.

    What are your Video Options and Audio Options settings in CamStudio?

    Cheers
