WaveoutGetSelectControl() failed Error Message

Every time I select the Speaker option, it shows this error message. I have tried to find the Stereo Mix and I cannot find it. Help!

    Do not use the Speaker option unless on a Windows XP computer (and even then it often does not work correctly). That exploited a "hook" that was available in XP bit has steadily been trouble since Vista.

    Watch the various videos on setting up Stereo Mix, then use "Record from Microphone" and select "Stereo Mix" as your source. Many Dells do not have Stereo mix engaged, so you may be out of luck if you own one of those. Search the comments here for "Stereo Mix" for other discussions on workarounds.
