What's going on here?
here's my test video with camstudio 2.6: http://www.sendspace.com/file/gpg7wd
any idea what's going on? I didn't uninstall the old lossless 1.4 codec (don't know how), would that be a problem?

The 2.6 installer should have replaced the 1.4 version of CamStudio Lossless Codec with the 1.5 version automatically. If it did not, then the install did not go smoothly. Also, make certain you have the C++ Runtime libraries installed.
Go to Microsoft and download and run the MS C++ Runtime Library installer package:

(Other language: change xx after displaylang.)
In Vista and Win 7, be certain to run in XP compatibility mode with desktop enhancements turned off.

Thanks for the help, Terry!
64-bit though you may be, the CamStudio program is 32-bit and runs in the XP compatibility mode, so yes, it is the 32-bit versions that you want. :-)
We've been having some issues with the dimensions being off by one pixel in 2.6 - download 2.5 if you want to try that from the main http://camstudio.org page. It will also give you the 1.5 version of the CamStudio Lossless Codec. Be aware that if using the "Region>>Window" setting, THAT one will be off by one pixel (use one pixel short and it will add a pixel to each dimension...)
The pixel thing is being fixed in 2.6 soon. It was a more complicated bunch of repairs than originally thought, so please be patient and we'll announce the new version when it becomes available.
Terry
Seems to work well and new release is expected soon.
