Recover recording from temp files?

I started a recording but CamStudio did not terminate cleanly and I was unable to save the output. I found the ~temp.avi and ~temp001.wav, but neither are playable in current format. I presume CamStudio does some post-processing to merge these into the final output file. Is there any way to get CamStudio to do this, as I would really like to recover this important recording. Thanks!
